Private by design. Powerful by necessity.
In a world where every conversation is recorded, analyzed, and monetized — M.A.R.S. Companion offers a different path.
- 100% local processing — nothing leaves your device
- Long-term semantic memory that actually remembers you
- No accounts, no cloud, no data harvesting
- Works offline anywhere, no internet required
A personal AI that belongs to you, not to a corporation.
Sequential Resource Orchestration
The heart of M.A.R.S. is a custom execution architecture that dynamically loads and unloads heavy AI components in strict sequence.
This allows the system to run complex reasoning and long-term memory even on limited hardware like Raspberry Pi 4 with only 4GB RAM.
Privacy built into the hardware
Each device uses its own unique encryption key. Any attempt to access the device without that key — including direct physical connection to the storage — renders the data unreadable. This mechanism has been implemented and tested on a dedicated unit; enabling it on production units is part of preparing the next stage.
A functional prototype is already running today
The system performs the full offline pipeline — speech-to-text, semantic memory retrieval, context-aware reasoning, and speech synthesis — entirely locally.
- Long-term conversational memory across sessions
- Gradual personality development
- Fully local processing with zero cloud dependency
- Physical button activation (no wake word)
The prototype has been successfully tested by the founder and three additional users.
What comes next
We believe AI should not be a tool but a digital personality — something a person builds a real, evolving relationship with over time. But that kind of relationship is physically impossible wherever there's a risk that what you say could reach someone else: people don't truly open up to something that might betray them.
That's why privacy in M.A.R.S. Companion isn't a separate selling point or a marketing argument — it's the technical precondition without which the whole idea of a digital personality falls apart. M.A.R.S.'s memory — vector, semantic, and emotional — is stored and processed only on your device, with a unique encryption key for every unit, so even direct physical access to the storage can't read your data.
This architecture — not a promise of confidentiality but its technical impossibility to breach — is what a dedicated patent filing on emotional architecture (GB2613968.3, filed with the UK IPO) protects, and it's what makes possible the entire point of M.A.R.S.: not answering commands, but remembering you, growing with you, and belonging only to you.
